US Treasury's Malpass says there has been no decision on formal economy talks with China

The background to this is reports "Treasury pulls out of formal economic talks with Beijing"

  • "Because there wasn't a path back toward a market orientation, I discontinued the China economic dialogue," said David Malpass, Treasury's undersecretary for international affairs.

Malpass is now contradicting what he said earlier, back tracking. No decision made yet.

It is getting more and more difficult to make much sense of what is coming out of the US. Clarity at a premium.

Welcome to the markets!
